Ubisoft Academia and Toon Boom Animation Videogame Base Camp

The Academia banner is overseeing four programs initiated by Ubisoft Montréal and its partners, including the Videogame Base Camp.

With the help of experts from Ubisoft Montréal and Toon Boom Animation, students will be introduced to the principles governing the production of a video game by producing a board game. Participants will work in teams using Toon Boom Animation's 2D graphic technology. The Videogame Base Camp will develop participants' leadership, creativity and logical thinking, key skills in the field of video games.
The winning team will see its game embellished and printed like a commercially available board game, and each member will receive a copy.

Target Audience

High school students aged 12 to 15, in cohorts of 20 divided into teams.

Participants must be high school students aged 12 to 15

Dates

1st cohort: July 9 to 13, 2012 (en francais)
2nd cohort: July 16 to 20, 2012 (en francais)
3rd cohort: July 23 to 27, 2012 (in English)
4th cohort: July 30 to August 3, 2012 (en francais)

Duration

Each Videogame Base Camp lasts one week (five days), Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost

$200 for each Videogame Base Camp lasting one week.
